Your Mission in Action
The Well-Being Zone (WBZ) Family Advocate serves as a trusted partner to children, parents, and caregivers by providing family-centered advocacy, prevention-focused support services to promote child safety, strengthen family stability, resource navigation, and relationship-based support within the Well-Being Zone model. The role focuses on strengthening protective factors, reducing family stressors, and increasing access to community resources that promote safety, stability, and overall family wellbeing. Combined direct case management, community partnership engagement, and working collaboratively with families, internal teams, and partners to deliver holistic, strengths-based services.
This is a part-time position and will work no more than 29 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Build trusting relationships with families accessing the Well-Being Zone
- Conduct strengths-based assessments and develop family action plans
- Provide ongoing case management, including regular contact, progress monitoring, and goal support
- Provide advocacy, warm referrals, and direct linkage to community resources
- Collaborate with schools, Upbring programs, and community partners
- Assist with crisis stabilization and short-term intervention when needed
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with agency standards
- Other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, or related field
- Experience working with children and families in a community or social services setting
- At least 21 years of age
- Valid Texas driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
- Strong communication, documentation, and advocacy skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology, or closely related field
- Five (5) or more years of experience in community service working with at-risk children and families
- Experience in community-based prevention or family wellbeing programs
- Bilingual (English/Spanish), based on community needs
- Knowledge of trauma-informed and family-strengthening models

- This position may be required to travel up to 20%
