- Top-Level Strategic Consulting: Leverage an in-depth understanding of the operational mechanisms of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) to provide top-level strategic planning for multinational corporations and outbound clients regarding export controls, economic sanctions, and CFIUS reviews.
- Complex Case Resolution: Lead the handling of high-difficulty cases, including Entity List removal, license applications, and compliance investigation responses, delivering highly actionable solutions.
- Policy Insights & Analysis: Continuously track and deeply interpret the latest legislative and enforcement developments in U.S. trade compliance, translating them into internal consulting products and strategic recommendations for clients.
- Business Development & Enablement: Assist in expanding high-end compliance consulting services, provide professional training to internal teams, and elevate the team's overall regulatory practical capabilities.
Requirements
- Dual Background in Regulation & Practice: Must have served in a mid-to-senior role at core regulatory agencies such as BIS, the State Department’s DDTC, or the Treasury Department’s OFAC (with the mandatory post-government cooling-off period fulfilled), AND currently or previously held positions as a Partner, Counsel, or Senior Attorney in the International Trade/Compliance practice of a top-tier U.S. law firm.
- Outstanding Professional Reputation: Possess recognized professional influence in export controls, economic sanctions, or national security reviews, with a proven track record of successfully handling major cases.
- Extensive Industry Network: Deeply familiar with the Washington, D.C. policy circle and the operational ecosystem of top compliance law firms, with excellent cross-departmental communication and resource integration skills.
