- Licensed Mental Performance Clinician
Description
ACG Mental Performance is seeking a full-time Licensed Mental Performance Clinician to lead and grow the clinical side of our practice. This role bridges sport psychology, clinical mental health, and performance consulting, with a particular emphasis on serving athlete populations navigating injury, transition, and high-performance stress. The ideal candidate holds a clinical license that enables independent practice and insurance billing, brings direct experience working with athletes, and ideally holds or is pursuing the Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) credential.
This is a foundational hire for the clinical arm of ACG. The right candidate will help define what clinical care looks like inside a performance psychology model and will work alongside the ACG consulting team to deliver integrated support across our athlete client base.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Practice
Provide individual clinical mental health services to athlete clients across youth, collegiate, and professional levels
Conduct intake assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions
Carry a managed caseload with appropriate documentation, session notes, and treatment planning
Bill insurance carriers using appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes (CPT/DSM-5)
Coordinate with referral partners including team physicians, athletic trainers, and coaches as appropriate and within HIPAA-compliant protocols
Athlete and Injury-Focused Care
Deliver specialized support for athletes in active injury rehabilitation, addressing psychological responses to injury including pain, fear of reinjury, identity disruption, and return-to-sport anxiety
Integrate clinical intervention with performance psychology frameworks to support the full athlete, not just the presenting clinical concern
Collaborate with ACG mental performance consultants on athlete cases requiring both clinical and performance support, maintaining appropriate scope delineation
Develop and facilitate group programming for injury recovery cohorts where applicable
Program Development and ACG Integration
Contribute to ACG's clinical protocols, intake processes, and referral pathways as we formalize the clinical practice
Participate in ACG team meetings, case consultation, and continuing education initiatives
Assist in developing clinical content for ACG's MindLab education platform and broader programming where appropriate
Maintain current knowledge of research in sport psychology, clinical sport psychology, and athlete mental health
