Description
The Certified Industrial Hygienist, Technical Applications & End-User Support plays a critical role in supporting growth for the DuPont™ Personal Protection Tyvek® Garments business by providing advanced technical applications expertise, second-level support, and end-user engagement. This role serves as a trusted technical resource for garment selection, hazard and risk assessment, permeation data interpretation, DuPont™ SafeSPEC™ inquiries, and customer-facing application guidance.
The position combines deep industrial hygiene expertise with practical commercial support, helping Sales, Marketing, Product, and Technical teams translate customer hazards, regulatory needs, and application requirements into confident PPE selection and stronger customer engagement.
Location
100% Remote with ability to travel to Richmond, VA and Wilmington, DE for training sessions, and across the US and CAN for customer interactions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Advanced Technical Support & Application Guidance
Provide second-level technical support for field, customer, and SafeSPEC™ online product selector inquiries, with emphasis on pre-sales support, garment selection, permeation data, and application guidance.
Serve as an applications authority for complex technical support topics, including hazard evaluation, contamination control, chemical protective garment selection, and related PPE decision support.
Apply industrial hygiene and risk assessment principles to help customers and internal teams evaluate workplace hazards and select appropriate protective solutions.
Document technical support activity, customer learnings, and application insights in Salesforce.com to improve visibility, follow-up, and knowledge sharing. 2. End-User
2. Engagement & Field Technical Support
Support Sales in highly technical customer engagements, including end-user hazard assessments, product/application discussions, and select customer-facing presentations.
Conduct or support end-user onsite hazard risk assessments through the SafeGUIDE™ field assessment process.
Translate technical findings into practical recommendations that help customers understand protective garment options and application fit.
Identify emerging industry trends, application needs, and technical insights that may inform new product enhancements, training, or commercial opportunities.
3. Training, Education & Technical Content Development
Assist with development of technical collateral, application guidance, educational materials, case studies, white papers, webinars, and training content.
Present or support DuPont Academy training for channel sellers, end users, and internal teams.
Support SafeSPEC™ training, product selector education, and internal knowledge-building for Sales, Marketing, and Technical stakeholders.
Contribute technical expertise to selected industry events, AIHA activities, tradeshow participation, and educational forums.
4. Industry Engagement & Insight Sharing
Build relationships with key industry influencers, educators, and technical stakeholders to strengthen DuPont Personal Protection’s credibility in the industrial hygiene community.
Share competitive, technical, and customer application learnings internally to strengthen market understanding and improve commercial execution.
Partner with Marketing and Product teams to identify unmet needs, emerging hazards, and opportunities for new content, training, or product development.
Requirements
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Chemistry, Engineering, or related technical field.
- Certified Industrial Hygienist designation, or active progress toward CIH or CSP certification.
- 2–5 years of experience in industrial hygiene, occupational safety, EHS technical support, PPE selection, chemical safety, or related field.
- Strong understanding of hazard and risk assessment principles for PPE selection.
- Ability to interpret technical data and communicate recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to support customer meetings, training, and technical content development.
- Strong follow-through and organizational skills.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Salesforce.com or similar CRM tools preferred, with training provided.
Preferred
- Experience with chemical protective clothing, PPE selection, contamination control, industrial manufacturing, life sciences, emergency response, or environmental services.
- Experience conducting customer hazard assessments, field technical support, or technical training.
- Experience or comfort in presenting at industry events, webinars, training programs, or customer technical forums.
