Position Summary
We are seeking a Functional Medicine trained National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) to join our interdisciplinary team at Nosis, a virtual functional medicine clinic specializing in substance use recovery. This role supports clients in building sustainable recovery through our evidence-based Core Curriculum—developed collaboratively by functional medicine physicians, therapists, and health coaches—and group coaching model, helping them develop personalized Rituals across our five pillars: Movement, Nutrition, Rest, Connection, and Mental Resilience. The ideal candidate will combine professional health coaching expertise with functional medicine principles to guide clients through transformative lifestyle change as part of our comprehensive outpatient treatment program.
Key Responsibilities
Client Coaching & Support
- Facilitate Home Groups - our foundational group health coaching structure where clients build community and practice skills together
- Provide 1:1 individual health coaching sessions for members in your Home Groups
- Guide clients in developing sustainable Rituals and habits across Movement, Nutrition, Rest, Connection, and Mental Resilience
- Support clients through our Core Curriculum, helping them integrate weekly programming into actionable behavioral change
- Lead Skills Lab workshops - interactive monthly sessions focused on teaching and practicing specific competencies related to our five pillars
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
- Work seamlessly with physicians, therapists, and concierge staff to ensure coordinated, whole-person care
- Contribute to care team discussions about client progress while maintaining clear scope of practice boundaries
- Collaborate with providers to support treatment plans through health coaching interventions
- Participate in team meetings and case consultations to optimize client outcomes
Program Delivery & Development
- Support evidence-based curriculum materials through engaging, interactive formats
- Utilize motivational interviewing and other coaching frameworks to support client autonomy and self-advocacy
- Stay current on functional medicine and addiction recovery research to enhance program offering
- Contribute to the ongoing evolution of Nosis 2.0 curriculum and coaching methodologies
Documentation & Accountability
- Maintain thorough session documentation that reflects coaching interventions and client progress, leveraging AI-assisted charting tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Track client engagement and outcomes related to the five pillars and established goals and rituals
- Utilize established frameworks for structured coaching documentation and evolving AI support for chart management
- Engage with emerging technology solutions to streamline administrative tasks and enhance client care

Requirements
Required Qualifications
- NBC-HWC (National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach)
- Certifications in functional medicine coaching, lifestyle medicine, or related fields (e.g., Functional Medicine Coaching Academy, American College of Lifestyle Medicine, Institute for Integrative Nutrition)
- Personal lived experience with addiction recovery: active, long-term recovery: 2 years minimum or close personal experience with addiction
- Strong understanding of functional medicine principles and their application to recovery support
- Deep knowledge of how substance use impacts the five pillars (Movement, Nutrition, Rest, Connection, Mental Resilience) and evidence-based approaches to restoration
- Excellent skills in motivational interviewing, goal-setting frameworks, and behavior change strategies
- Exceptional communication, empathy, and interpersonal abilities
- Comfort with technology and virtual care delivery platforms, including adaptability to AI-enhanced tools
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team while maintaining coaching scope of practice
Preferred Qualifications
- Training in trauma-informed care, mindfulness-based interventions, or somatic practices
- Experience facilitating group coaching, workshops, or educational sessions
- Background in areas such as exercise physiology, nutrition, sleep science, or stress management
- Peer Support Specialist
