The Role at a Glance:
This role requires the candidate to be within a drivable commuting distance to one of our plants located in Monroe, NH; Salem, NH; Gainesville, GA; Greencastle, PA; or Kalona, IA.
The BTS Operations Manager is responsible for managing the operational performance of all Beyond the Shell (BTS) product lines including but not limited to managing the relationships with the contract manufacturers of all Beyond The Shell (BTS) products, finished goods, packaging and ingredient inventory management, short and long term capacity planning, and customer fulfillment rates.

In this role, you’ll help deliver the highest quality product while upholding our unwavering commitment to animal welfare, food safety, and responsible farming. You’ll act boldly, embrace continuous improvement, and partner with teammates and customers to deliver wins.
- Procure finished product from the Co-Man and coordinate with planning / logistics / warehousing / customer fulfillment to ensure timely delivery to appropriate production facilities
- Procure ingredient and material components as required by the various Co-Man arrangements
- Partner with Sales and Marketing on packaging transitions, formulation changes, and product line development to maximize sales growth and profitability.
- Partner with FP&A on the regular analysis of BTS P&L’s.
- Participate in capacity planning and budgeting with internal partners and Co-Man partners
- Develop and execute a quarterly business review with each Co-Man partner
- Perform a vendor visit x2 / year for each Co-man partner
- Regularly evaluate alternative vendors to ensure product quality, cost management, and long-term capacity to meet volume growth.
- Manage stock to approved Safety Stock/Inventory levels
- Evaluate and recommend updates to Safety Stock levels on a quarterly basis
- Track and resolve purchasing related problems, errors, and discrepancies
- Produce and communicate repeatable reports on BTS Performance around COGS, Fill Rates, and other Key Performance Indicators
- Ensures procurement functions are completed in accordance with established policies and procedures to maximize efficiency and minimize cost of organization's supply chain
- Support the Approved Supplier Program
- Coordinate and interface with Food Safety and Quality Assurance to ensure food safety requirements and product quality expectations are being met and consumer / customer complaints are addressed and reduced
- Establish and maintain effective business relations with vendors and suppliers
- Manage and monitor vendor's performance to ensure they meet company's requirements
- Optimize inventory by utilizing forecast data and establish effective reorder levels
- Operate in a mode of continuous improvement

- This role requires the candidate to be within a drivable commuting distance to one of our plants located in Monroe, NH; Salem, NH; Gainesville, GA; Greencastle, PA; or Kalona, IA.
- Minimum 5 years related work experience in the fields of procurement and/or vendor management
- Experience managing suppliers and internal/external customers
- High competency level in MS Office applications
- Experience working with and implementing purchasing and supply chain systems, including MRP and ERP systems
- Understanding of effective procurement policies and procedures
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Analytical skills
- Well organized
- Solid communication and negotiation abilities
Work Schedule & Hours:
- Dayshift – Typically Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
- Hours may flex or vary based on daily needs,
- Flexibility is required.
- This is a remote role with the expectation of traveling to our locations regularly, approximately one week per month.
