Overview

The 1st Assistant Golf Professional will assist the Head Golf Professional in managing the golf facility in an efficient, high-quality, service-orientated manner. This position will report to the Head Golf Professional and General Manager.

Experience Required

• Must partner with management to promote and operate facility in a way to drive revenue.
• 2-3 years of golf industry experience
• Leadership skills; the ability to lead people
• Strong customer orientation
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
• Basic computer proficiency and skills
• PGA apprentice or member preferred
• Municipal, Private, Semi-Private golf course experience
• High Volume Golf Facility Experience

Essential Responsibilities

• Supervise Pro Shop Staff and Outside Services Staff
• Trains new Pro Shop Staff and Outside Services Staff
• Monitors guest experience and takes appropriate action to assure the best customer service
• Coordinates and administers the daily work schedule of the pro shop staff and outside services staff
• Manages the staff in their maintenance of daily cash receipts and accounts receivable charges
• Assist in developing and managing an innovative tournament program that services all members and outside play
• Assist with golf instruction & golfer development programs, including PGA Jr League
• Assist in administering all daily operations including, but not limited to: facilitating sales, assisting with merchandise, operating POS system, managing handicap and tee sheet applications, acts as ranger, starter, guest relations, outside service or golf shop shifts.
• Performs other duties as required under the direction of the head golf professional and general manager.
